The Objectives of the Association are:

(a) To inform, educate, and organise consumers so as to enable them to secure, protect and preserve their interests and assert their rights as consumers of goods and services pertaining to health and safety, including but not restricted to pharmaceutical drugs, medical services, health care, nutrition including infant and child nutrition, tobacco and other harmful substances, potable water and cosmetics, toiletries and the like;

(b) To disseminate information aimed at improving the status of health and nutrition of all human beings, and at protecting all classes of people from unsafe products and services, health and safety violations, unsafe testing of drugs, cosmetics and toiletries, unscrupulous marketing practices of products used for health, nutrition, cosmetics, toiletries, human consumption, and the like;

(c) To protect and promote the interests of the consumers of goods and services referred to in Clause (a) by all lawful means;

(d) To collaborate with, and to work in co-operation with other organisations engaged in consumer activism, education, research and mobilisation in the fields of health, safety and nutrition;

(e) To provide a forum for redressal of consumer grievances related to safety and health issues;

(f) To provide for, undertake, aid and promote the study, research, testing, investigation and evaluation of consumer products and services in the fields of health care, nutrition,safety, cosmetics, toiletries, tobacco and other products of human consumption;

(g) To promote, aid and popularise the use of cost-effective, economical and affordable solutions for health care, nutritional and safety issues, and to mobilise public opinion against uneconomical, wasteful, irrational, or otherwise damaging solutions or nostrums or goods and services referred to in Clause (a) above;

(h) To do all such other lawful things which are closely akin to and identical with or conducive to the attainment of any or all the above objects of the Association which the Trustees may, in consultation with the Founder Members, believe to be necessary for the fulfillment of the Association’s aims and goals;

(i) To take all lawful steps necessary for the achievement of the above objects including but not limited to printing, publication and dissemination of information, lobbying with Government agencies, international organisations, private bodies and other persons, initiating, filing or appearing in support of Court proceedings, holding meetings, seminars, demonstrations, organising boycotts, and adopting other peaceful and constitutional means of raising public consciousness and mobilising public opinion;

(j) To protect the rights of all the consumers including those who are deprived and disfranchised.
